The official release date for season 3 of the hit anime Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? has just been revealed.

Anime fans have had to get used to production delays over recent months and yet another series has felt the effects of coronavirus.

The third season of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (also known as DanMachi) had its release date pushed back several months, but we now know exactly when the series will return.

 

DanMachi Season 3 release date…

The official announcement that the hit anime had been renewed for a third season came all the way back in September 2019 and would premiere alongside a new OVA episode.

This third season was initially scheduled to release in July 2020, but this had to be pushed back a few months. However, the news that the anime will return next month is good news for many fans.

However, it is unclear whether the series will also premiere on Crunchyroll at this time, with the article only stating a release date for TOKYO MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and ABEMA.

Why was DanMachi season 3 delayed?

This is an issue that has severely affected the anime industry this year and it continues to wreak havoc with production, with insiders claiming animation is taking twice as long, and dubbing three times as long as usual.

Each of the previous OVA’s has premiered between four and five months after the previous season’s finale. If season 3 runs with 12 episodes on the same weekly release schedule, we could expect the OVA to be released in May 2021.
